How many candles are on an Advent Wreath?
Not many Advent Wreaths can be found on stamps
On the search for philatelic stamps with Advent Wreaths as used in Europe, I came across this cancel, which however shows an Advent Wreath with not only the usual four candles but a lot more of them. You can find out what this is all about by answering the questions of the quiz. Otherwise, I only found four stamps depicting the traditional Advent Wreath, interestingly enough two from Switzerland and one from Slovenia and you won’t believe it one from Venezuela. It’s a pity because it’s a nice custom that gets you in the right mood for Christmas. Unfortunately, you see fewer Advent Wreaths in the houses, but here in Europe more and more reindeer and Santa Clauses……
