Poland European Stamp – Eurasian Lynx
As is so often the case, it was difficult for me to choose my stamp of the month in April. I have now decided on the Europa stamp from Poland. But since the others should also be appreciated, I have included the top 5 in the first gallery below.
But now to the winner. Although the Polish Post Office already used the Eurasian lynx as a stamp motif in 1965, 1973, 1976, 2001, and 2002, it is now again a motif in the Europe 2021 issue (see second gallery below). This shows how consistently the Polish Post represents the need to preserve the lynx population. What I like very much is the design of the stamp. Unlike other European stamps, which this year have the motto “endangered species”, this stamp also conveys the message that the lynx is disappearing, its population is disintegrating. Impressively depicted with the dissolution of the body contours in the right part of the stamp. Truly a stamp of the month.
